Prodrive is working on a new 400-horsepower Subaru Impreza

The Subaru Impreza 22B is one of the most iconic cars of the last 30 years, capable of making many fans fall in love since the first moments of release on the market, in 1997: today Prodrive, the company that worked on rally Subaru and that helped the company to obtain all the victories it can boast, presented a new project, a completely refurbished Impreza called P25, produced in only 25 units.

Compared to the Impreza 22B of 1997, this new version will be lighter, more powerful and even more manageable: it will be powered by a 2.5-liter in-line 4-cylinder capable of generating 400 horsepower, combined with an automatic gearbox with 6-speed steering wheel fins, housed in a structure integral with the frame and in carbon fiber.

“A redefined icon”, these are the words that Davi Richards, head of Prodrive, used to describe his new Impreza, "We set out to improve on everything that made that car so special, using the latest technology to bring our own modern take on a car that made motorsport history."

It is not the first time that Prodrive engages in projects of this kind: very recently we told you about the crazy Kimera Evo37, the restomod based on the Lancia 037 that has given life to a modern car but capable of convey feelings of other times.
