Ms. Marvel: the series will be a mix between Lady Bird and Scott Pilgrim
“This is a more light-hearted show than the others seen so far. We will show the audience that being a teenager creates embarrassment and weirdness, ”Iman explained. “If I had to describe Ms. Marvel, I'd say there's a bit of John Hughes' films mixed with the atmospheres of Scott Pilgrim and Lady Bird.”Iman added that the show will maintain awareness of the line of demarcation between being a child and an adolescent. Once grown, all emotions are maximized, leading to something new.
As already specified in the past, the show will bring changes to the origins of Kamala: her powers are in fact of energetic origin and not shape-shifting, eliminating any reference and connection to the world of the Inhumans, as happens in the Marvel comics.
The series will be a preamble for Captain Marvel: The Marvels, a Marvel Cinematic Universe film in which Kamala joins forces with Carol Danvers and Monica Rambeau, a character introduced in WandaVision. The release is scheduled for July 28, 2023.
