F1 22 Updates Three Tracks to Reflect Real-World Changes

A new update has been released for F1 22, which made changes to some of the circuits to get them as close as possible to the real-world versions. In the real world, new cars and regulations were introduced for the 2022 FIA Formula One World Championship.


Three tracks have been enhanced with the new update and these are:

  • Spain

  • Turn 10 now has a new layout that matches the ones introduced in real life for the postponed 2021 race.

  • Turns 10 to 14 have the offtrack areas updated.

  • Several sausage curbs around the circuit have also been updated.

  • Australia

  • The Albert Park Circuit has been remodeled with the use of LIDAR data. See more detailed height and camber.

  • The walls of the outfield areas are repositioned. Curbs were replaced with new photogrammetry versions.

  • There are multiple changes to the circuit with a new layout to turns 1, 3, 6, 8/9, 11, 12, and 13.

  • Abu Dhabi

  • Yas Marina’s turn 5 has changed with the chicane removed before the hairpin. This is the sport where Verstappen overtook Hamilton to secure the 2021 Formula One World Championship.

  • The hairpin has been moved forward to add more runoff.

  • The turn 9 chicane and 90-degree turns are now a single cambered turn, replacing turns 11 to 14.

  • Turns 13 to 15 have been rounded off around the hotel to allow cars to follow more closely.

  • F1 22 is coming out on July 1 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. There is also a PC version which can be obtained through the EA App, Origin, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. Gracing the game’s cover is Charles Leclerc of Scuderia Ferrari, joined by Lando Norris of McLaren and George Russell of Mercedes.


    Pre-order is now available for the base game.
