Epic Games doesn't turn its back on Frogwares and helps the Ukrainian studio

As the war in Ukraine continues, good news arrives for Frogwares Studio. The Ukrainian development studio, responsible for the Sherlock Holmes videogame series, has in fact been able to access funding from Epic Games, thanks to the fund set up to help developers around the world.

“We are proud to tell you that we have received a MegaGrant from Epic Games”, in the words of Alex Striuk of Frogwares Studio. “At the moment the war continues to go on in Ukraine. During this time the team has tried to be strong, maintain a positive attitude and do everything to be able to remain operational and provide assistance to our team. The war has negatively affected our production and led to a disorganization of our studio, ”continued Striuk in a message posted in the last few hours.

The Epic MegaGrant is a service that allows developers to receive money for using the Unreal Engine on projects that can improve the open source parts of the 3D ecosystem. Studios can receive anywhere from $ 5,000 to $ 50,000, but it is unclear how much the developers of Frogwares have received.

Frogwares was founded in 2000 and has two locations: one in Kyiv and one in Dublin. The studio produced video games based on classic literature and the tales of Lovecraft and Conan Doyle. Due to the conflict, all works are currently at a standstill.
