Will the AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT be the least “updated” GPU in the range?

We started talking about AMD's new Radeon RX 6 × 50 XT range a few articles ago, starting with PowerColor's RX 6750 XT and continuing with Gigabyte's top-of-the-line RX 6950 XT. The circle now closes with news recently surfaced on the net regarding RX 6650 XT, the low-end GPU of the line with updated specifications compared to RX 6600 XT.

Source: Videocardz Come per all other models the card should keep the same graphics processor, in this case Navi 23 XT with 2,048 stream processor and 32 ray accelerator, as well as the same 32MB Infinity Cache. The RX 6650 XT leaked on Videocardz's website is part of PowerColor's Hellhound range, the model supports dual-BIOS functionality with Silent and OC modes. This results in a boost frequency of 2635MHz, starting from an operating frequency of 2410MHz. A marginal improvement of 4.4% and just under 3.7% over the RX 6600 XT, which has an operating frequency of 2382MHz and a boost frequency of 2593MHz.

The higher frequencies also involve a variation in the power requirements, which go from 500W to 600W (overall on the power supply, not exclusively for the video card), while maintaining the 8 power connector pin. Videocardz, however, was unable to obtain the data regarding TBP (Total Board Power), which in the previous model reached 160W. Based on this, however, the new GPU should be in the range of 170W to 180W.

The launch of the Radeon RX 6650 XT, along with the other updated models in the range, should take place on 10 May, the date on which we will be able to find out complete info on the card.
