Xbox Series X available on Microsoft Store today, March 1, 2022

Xbox Series X will be available again on the Microsoft Store today, March 1, 2022, starting at 18.00. We are already talking about limited availability, so we invite you to check the link below a few minutes before the scheduled time.

Xbox Series X, buy on Microsoft Store

Able to total sales so far superior to any other Xbox, the two new Microsoft consoles cover different market segments, offering on the one hand the greatest possible power and on the other an extraordinary convenience.

Xbox Series X, specifically, is currently the most powerful gaming system ever, thanks to its 12 TFLOPS guaranteed by an SoC that houses a processor with Zen 2 architecture and a GPU with RDNA 2 architecture. House of Redmond stands out in an absolute way, thanks to the incredible endowment of Xbox Game Pass: a subscription that, starting from € 9.99 per month, allows you to access a large catalog of games that also include all first party productions since from day o ne.

Xbox series X stock - live: Amazon, Game and Currys restock Microsoft’s console in largest drop since launch

Update: The Xbox series X is in stock at Amazon, Currys and Game. Xbox All Access is available at Smyths Toys and Asda. Read on for more details.

Xbox series X stock has been constrained by production bottlenecks stemming from the global pandemic, and despite the general availability of the Xbox All Access scheme – the pay monthly alternative to paying £449 for the console – the console itself is still difficult to reliably find in stock in the UK.

The less advanced Xbox series S is easier to find in stock (£249, Amazon.co.uk), but surging demand for the more powerful Xbox has left the console sold out at sites like Very, Smyths Toys, Game, Argos, Asda and Amazon. When the Xbox series X does appear, it sells out in minutes as customers snap up the available units as soon as they arrive.

That’s why we launched our Xbox stock tracking liveblog, where we track every UK stockist at once to bring you live stock alerts as they happen.

We’ll also bring you tips and advice for beating the crowds to bag an Xbox series X, including which sites to pay attention to, deals and discounts on Xbox accessories, game reviews and how to register your interest for new consoles before they go on sale.

  • Best Xbox Game Pass Ultimate titles14:29 , Steve Hogarty

Since its introduction in 2017, Microsoft has offered gamers great value with the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Much like a Netflix subscription, users can pay a monthly fee to access a library of over 100 titles for playing on Xbox consoles, PC and even via the cloud.

This is a great way to try plenty of excellent games that might otherwise have passed you by and it’s regularly updated on a monthly basis on a revolving door policy. When new games come in, old ones tend to go out.

Titles such as Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5 are currently available through the service with plenty of others that are also worth your time.

What resolution is the Xbox series X?13:29 , Steve Hogarty

The Xbox series X is in stock pretty solidly now, so it’s time to seriously think about what you’ll be plugging it into.

If you haven’t upgraded in a while, you might need a new TV to get the most out of the Xbox series X. The console can output at stunning 8K resolution, though in practice the most you’ll ever see next-generation games running at is 4K.

At lower resolutions, some games can refresh the screen at a super smooth 120 frames per second, producing an eerily lifelike type of motion that the average TV can’t handle.

That’s why many Xbox series X players use 120Hz gaming monitors rather than TVs. Check out our round-up of the best gaming monitors to help you choose.

We’ve also got eyes on the best 4K TV deals in March, if you’re after a cheap-but-excellent telly.

Will the Microsoft Store restock next?12:01 , Steve Hogarty

The official Microsoft store doesn’t get any special treatment when it comes to Xbox series X restocks.

It most recently had the console in stock last week, and doesn’t deal in bundles or any other funky business like that. Just £449 consoles, plain as the nose on your face.

Microsoft likes to restock later in the day than most retailers. We’ve seen stock popping up as late as 6pm some evenings, so keep one eye out once the sun goes down.

Xbox All Access available at Asda11:31 , Steve Hogarty

It looks like that Asda still has Xbox series X bundles available through Xbox All Access.

If you’re happy to pay £28.99 a month for 24 months and can pass a Klarna credit check, Xbox All Access is very good value indeed.

You get Game Pass Ultimate membership thrown in, which normally costs £10.99 per month. That means you’re paying £18 per month for the Xbox itself, which over two years adds up to £432. That’s £17 cheaper than buying it the usual way. Thanks, maths.

Smyths Toys has the Xbox series X in stock10:44 , Steve Hogarty

Do you prefer to buy your consoles in person? Do you want to vigorously shake the hand of the person who sells you one?

Then you’ll be interested to learn that Smyths Toys has the Xbox series X available to click and collect from a bunch of stores around the country.

Are there discounts on the Xbox?10:14 , Steve Hogarty

The Xbox is rarely ever discounted, even when it’s readily in stock.

This is partly because Microsoft sells the £449 Xbox series X at a loss and makes most of its money through software sales. Microsoft wants an Xbox in as many homes around the world as possible and has priced the console as aggressively as it possibly can to achieve this.

That said, we’ve seen the price of the cheaper Xbox series S fall by a two or three pounds at Amazon as the retailer’s automatic pricing algorithm does battle with some unseen enemy elsewhere on the internet.

There was also a rare and time-limited discount on the Xbox series S at US retailer Woot yesterday, which saw the price of the less advanced console fall from $299 to $249.

As for the Xbox series X? So long as demand is so high and supply is so small, don’t expect to see any offers soon.

Is the PlayStation 5 in stock?09:55 , Steve Hogarty

How embarrassing for Sony. While we’ve got Xbox consoles coming out the wazoo – if we may use the anatomical term – the PlayStation 5 is nowhere to be found.

Over on our PlayStation 5 stock tracking liveblog, we’re poised to pounce on the first PlayStation we see. We’re closely tracking rumoured drops incoming from John Lewis & Partners, Asda and Very, so head over there if you’re on the hunt for Sony’s latest console.

Where is Xbox All Access in stock?09:39 , Steve Hogarty

There are three main retailers who regularly restock Xbox All Access, and all three have had the programme solidly available for weeks.

Game, Smyths Toys and Asda are all taking new applicants for the Xbox All Access programme this morning.

The pay monthly scheme lets you spread the cost of the console over two years. There’s no up front payment, instead you pay £28.99 per month and you get two years of Game Pass Ultimate (worth £10.99 per month and generally regarded as the best deal in games) included. Game Pass is a Netflix-style games-on-demand service giving you access to a library of over 100 games.

It’s bloomin’ good value, especially considering how expensive new games are, so we can recommend grabbing a console this way if you can keep up the repayments. You can also pay the entire £695.76 balance off with no early repayment fee.

The Xbox series X is restocked at Game09:15 , Steve Hogarty

Have you ever seen so much Xbox stock? We swear to goodness, these restocks could put a stock tracking liveblog out of a job.

But we’ve still got the big picture on which retailers are offering the best Xbox deals right now.

    In order, they are:

  • Amazon – £449, no messing around, next-day delivery
  • Game – £464.98, bundled with a baseball cap or a t-shirt for no reason, £9.99 delivery charge
  • Currys – £669, can’t buy this Xbox without also buying a £190 hard drive and three months of Game Pass
  • The Xbox series X is in stock at Currys08:57 , Steve Hogarty

    Buy now

Currys also has the Xbox series X in stock this morning, but only as part of a bundle including the official 1TB Seagate SSD and three months of Game Pass.

It costs £669. That’s a spicy little meatball, and offers no savings over buying the £449 console, the £190 hard drive and £30 worth of Game Pass separately.

Prime customers can have the console delivered by tomorrow.

Well that’s all from us this rather bleak Monday afternoon. We head into the evening with the Xbox still in stock at Currys and Game, and Xbox All Access also available at Asda and Smyths Toys.

However, the unbundled £449 consoles are all sold out at Currys. That means the £464.98 deal at Game is the cheapest offer out there right now.

How large is the Xbox series X?Monday 28 February 2022 16:22 , Steve Hogarty (Xbox) © Provided by The Independent (Xbox)

Two important questions you should ask yourself before before you buy that fancy new walnut TV unit from Wayfair: how big is the Xbox series X? And can you lay the Xbox on its side?

The Xbox series X isn’t as large as the enormous PlayStation 5, but it’s still really rather big. The Xbox series S is much smaller, and both console can be either stood up vertically or laid down horizontally.

Stood up, the series X is 30.1cm tall, 15.1cm wide and 15.1cm deep.

In the same orientation, the series S is 27.1cm tall, 6.5cm thick and 15.1cm deep.

The best TVs for gaming on Xbox series XMonday 28 February 2022 15:24 , Steve Hogarty

If you’re shopping for an Xbox series X then you might well be after a new TV too – especially one that has a 4K resolution, HDR and a high frame rate to show the console off at its best.

The Xbox series X can output at 8K resolution, but most games will only ever run at a maximum of 4K. That’s the highest resolution most reasonably priced TVs can reach, and it’s realistically all you’ll ever need.

If your TV only goes up to 1080p (also known as Full HD), games will still look great but you won’t be getting the most out of your new Xbox series X. To help you upgrade your set without breaking the bank, we’ve pulled together a list of the best 4K TV deals for entertainment, movies and gaming.

The best VPN for the Xbox series XMonday 28 February 2022 14:26 , Steve Hogarty

If you stream movies on your Xbox, a virtual private network allows you to disguise your location and access content and shows not normally available in your country. A VPN can also bypass any firewalls imposed by whoever runs your network.

You can’t install a VPN directly to an Xbox series X, but you can install one on a laptop and route your console’s internet connection through that. You can also install some VPNs on routers to cover all of your devices in your home in one go.

A laggy VPN will hinder your online gaming, so to keep your Xbox series X running at peak performance you’ll want to make sure the VPN you choose is fast and responsive enough to avoid lag and dropouts when playing online. Check out our round-up of the best VPNs for torrenting, streaming and gaming.

Read our review of the new Nintendo Switch OLEDMonday 28 February 2022 13:28 , Steve Hogarty

If handheld gaming is more your thing then check out our review of the new Nintendo Switch OLED. The console features an OLED display for the first time, which is larger than before and produces punchier colours and deeper blacks. There’s also a redesigned kickstand and double the internal storage of its predecessor.

Our reviewer said of the £309.99 console: “The larger display is fantastic and playing games in handheld mode is an absolute joy. The kickstand feels so solid and makes us never want to look at that little toggle on the back of the original Switch ever again...this is absolutely the best version of the console yet.”

Is the Xbox series X in stock at CEX?Monday 28 February 2022 11:30 , Steve Hogarty

Second hand electronics stores and online auction sites are usually awash with Xbox consoles, but we tend not to report on this stock.

Why? For a start, these second hand Xboxes are still more expensive than buying brand new.

And secondly, a big reason for the scarcity of consoles in the first place is professional resellers buying up new stock to sell online at an inflated price. You might not mind paying a little more for an Xbox, but buying a console in this way incentivizes scalping, perpetuates the practice, and unfairly drives up prices for legitimate shoppers who might not have that extra hundred quid to spend.

Is Very due an Xbox restock soon?Monday 28 February 2022 11:01 , Steve Hogarty

Very tends to have precisely one Xbox restock every month, always on a Tuesday and always at around 9:30am. This has been the case since early 2021, making Very one of the few retailers it’s possible to accurately predict.

These restocks usually happen in the middle of the month, so we’re not expecting another drop for at least three weeks, but keep Very in mind should Currys and Game run out of consoles in March.

    What’s happening with Amazon’s Xbox stock?Monday 28 February 2022 10:29 , Steve Hogarty

Amazon is currently sold out of the Xbox series X in the UK, but in recent weeks the retail giant has restocked Microsoft’s new console in Germany, France and Spain.

Tempted to import the Xbox from Europe? You might want to consider some of the hidden costs first. Importing electronics from the EU incurs a set of taxes, delivery charges and fees. Because of the additional paperwork required, many courier services have hiked up their prices too.

You can expect to pay at least £100 extra to buy an Xbox this way.

If you’ve given up on waiting, Amazon pretty much always has the less powerful Xbox series S in stock (£249.99, Amazon.co.uk).

Can you buy an Xbox series X in store?Monday 28 February 2022 10:09 , Steve Hogarty

We continually monitor online retailers for the arrival of fresh Xbox stock, but did you know that we also keep tabs on the availability in physical stores around the country? We rely on tweets from happy customers, news from around the web, and our network of covert spies embedded in every shopping centre in the UK.

Argos is currently your best bet, as we’ve heard reports of shoppers finding the console available at their local branch in recent weeks. It’s worth popping into your nearest store if you’re passing by.

To a lesser extent the Xbox series X is has been spotted in-store at John Lewis & Partners, Game and Smyths, all while each retailer’s online stores reported the Xbox as sold out.

AO could restock the Xbox this weekMonday 28 February 2022 09:48 , Steve Hogarty

Both Currys and Game have the Xbox in stock right now, but we’re predicting more retailers to follow suit soon. High up on our list of retailers we think could restock this week is AO.

It’s been more than a month since the retailer last sold an Xbox series X, and it usually pops up there once every three weeks on average.

Keep in mind that when AO stocks the Xbox, it’s usually as part of a bundle of accessories costing around £600. The console alone costs £449.

They do this to stave off scalpers, naughty wags who want to resell the console for a profit, but with supply and demand finally beginning to level off we might see AO sell unbundled consoles for a change.
