Reddit obscures two Russian-related subreddits

The struggle of nations, sites, hacker groups and more continues against Russia following its invasion of Ukraine. Over the last few days, we have told you about various initiatives, such as the hacker group Anonymous, which modified the navigation data of Putin's "Graceful" yacht to send him to "hell", or the operation that led to the spread of the source code of the Conti ransomware, carried out by a presumably Ukrainian member of the group who decided to "take revenge" after the team leaders posted an aggressive pro-Russia message on the official website.

Additionally, the site has quarantined the r / Russia and r / RussiaPolitics subreddits, deleting them from searches and recommendations and displaying a warning when trying to join, indicating that the communities contain a high volume of information unsupported by credible sources. . However, these measures will not completely eliminate the problem, as users could still share news from Russian media via other ploys.

Reddit is not the only portal that has decided to eliminate links and information from Russian media such as RT and Sputnik, given the propaganda promoted by Putin in the country that tries to show the invasion of Ukraine under a different light and hiding most of the acts carried out by the Russian army. For now, unfortunately, we can only wait for further developments on the matter.
