Acura opens first dealership in the metaverse

Acura, Honda's premium brand launched in Canada and the United States in 1986, has announced the opening of its store in the metaverse; this is the first car brand to announce an operation of this type, on the wave of the success of NFT and cryptocurrencies.

The opening of 'Acura of Decentraland', this is the name chosen for the store, is scheduled for March 22: it will be a showroom where users will be able to visit virtual environments and see the three-dimensional reconstructions of Acura models - including the new Integra - without ever leaving their home. Among the planned activities there is the possibility to get on board the car to take a good look at the interior, test the accessories or try a driving game.

Speaking instead of real cars, to be driven without wearing virtual reality headsets, the new Integra is expected on the market during the upcoming spring 2022: the 2023 model of Integra will be offered starting from a base of 30,000 $ e will be powered by a 1.5-liter, 200-horsepower 4-cylinder turbo engine, all paired with all-wheel drive and CVT-type automatic transmission. To date Acura has not unbuttoned the possibility of creating high-performance versions, such as the Integra Type S, but if this model is confirmed, a significantly higher starting price is expected - probably around $ 40,000 - and adequate equipment. to a sports car.
