The official website of Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2205 has streamed the first 14 minutes of Uchū Senkan Yamato 2205: Aratanaru Tabidachi - Zenshō -TAKE OFF-, the first of the two films planned for Star Blazers - Space Battleship Yamato 2205: The New Journey (Uchū Senkan Yamato 2205: Aratanaru Tabidachi), the new project curated by Harutoshi Fukui.

The website has also published an image of the six protagonists joining the crew. The same image will become a special card that will be distributed along with the presale tickets.

A first look at Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2205

Based on the 1979 television special Space Battleship Yamato: The New Journey, the story of the new project consisting of two films begins three years after the war with the Empire of the White Comet. Kodai now commands battleship Yamato with a new crew as they face another battle. Read also our article to watch the trailer.

As for the cast members, Daisuke Ono returns as Susumu Kodai, Houko Kuwashima as Yuki Mori, Houchu Ohtsuka as Shirō Sanada, Kōichi Yamadera as Abelt Dessler and Kikuko Inoue as Starsha Iscandar. Nobuhiko Okamoto also returns as Tasuke Tokugawa. We also have new members: Tasuku Hatanaka as Ryūsuke Domon, Tomo Muranaka as Miyako Kyōzuka, Kento Itō as Shigeru Sakamoto and Wataru Hatano as Heiji Bandō.

About Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2199

We remind you that before this new project a remake of the original 1974 series, Space Battleship Yamato created by Leiji Matsumoto and Yoshinobu Nishizaki. Titled Star Blazers: Space Battleship, Yamato 2199 was released in theaters from 2012 to 2013, as a series consisting of six films and then landed on television. Its sequel, Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2202 was also first unveiled as a series of seven films released from June 2017 to March 2019. It then aired on television in October 2018 in Japan while Crunchyroll has started streaming the anime in May 2019.
