GTA The Trilogy: On Steam, fans recommend buying the originals as long as you can

Numerous reviews of GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas have appeared on Steam these days suggesting players purchase the originals before they are permanently removed from Rockstar Games ahead of the launch of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition. br>
For those who missed the latest news, last week Rockstar officially announced GTA: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition, a collection that includes remasters of GTA 3, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas and will see "great graphical improvements and a modernization of the gameplay for all three titles ".

With a view to the arrival of the collection, Rockstar Games starting this week will remove the original version of the games from the various digital stores where they are currently available , including Steam, and therefore it will be impossible to buy them digitally.

As Eurogamer.net reports, this is a decision that apparently not everyone has gone down, c on fans who have posted many reviews on Steam to encourage players to purchase the original titles while they have time.

"Make sure you buy the trilogy until it is deleted from Steam," suggests Pink Diamond in a review of GTA 3. "Buy this game before it is removed next week," says GrunkeBran for Vice City instead. "Buy it before it is removed", a review of San Andreas.

As mentioned above, although Rockstar Games' intention is to preserve "their classic and unmistakable style and atmosphere" i three games will also have "a gameplay upgrade". In short, those who want to live or preserve the original experience of the three games still have little time to buy a digital copy.

Among the many new reviews there are those who take the opportunity to bid farewell to GTA San Andreas after 2,780 hours of gameplay.

"I have to admit that with all the time I put into this game between speedrunning, modding and more this is the best GTA I've ever played, this game means a lot to me and has a great story, a world fabulous and lots to do and find. Goodbye, old friend. "

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition will be available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC by the end of 2021, with the iOS and Android versions arriving in 2022. The well-known insider Tom Henderson however may have revealed the release date of the collection in advance.

GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition remaster release date leaked but physical editions delayed

Rockstar didn’t share an official release date for its GTA remasters, but some sources claim that it will launch physically in December.

One of the worst kept secrets of 2021 was finally revealed only a few days ago. Namely, that remasters of the three PlayStation 2 era Grand Theft Auto games will be released as a bundle by the end of the year.

Rockstar Games has still yet to provide an exact release date but, according to Polish website PPE, physical copies of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition should be available in December. However, its sources suggest that this only applies to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch versions.

In Rockstar’s announcement, it stated that the collection would be available across all modern platforms, including Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, later in 2021. Android and iOS versions will then follow in the first half of 2022.

If PPE’s sources are correct, then the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 versions are being pushed back to 2022, or at least their physical editions are.

What’s interesting is that industry insider Tom Henderson has stated that the trilogy is actually scheduled for a November release, specifically on November 11. He says that budgets have been allocated to various marketing agencies and November 11 is the date pencilled in.

Henderson has regularly proven to be a reliable source of info, having leaked numerous details about Battlefield 2042 before it was announced, but release dates are always subject to change.

It’s entirely possible that the November release is for the digital versions of the game, with physical versions to arrive at retailers the month after. Henderson never specifies whether the release date he’s seen is exclusively for the digital release or not.

Considering Rockstar plans on removing the original three games from digital storefronts at some point this week, it’s likely confident that the remastered versions will be available in some form before the end of the year.
