Traffic forecast for the first weekend of September

Traffic forecast for the first weekend of September

By now, for most Italians, the holidays have come to an end a few days ago. For this reason, as often happens, the weekend becomes a way to unplug from the chaos of the city and work and take advantage of it for a trip out of town. Apparently, after witnessing the black stamp days on Italian motorways, it would seem that the worst is over. Although, there could be - in this first weekend of September - some slowdowns in various motorway sections. In fact, according to the traffic forecasts of Autostrade.it, on the weekend there are some queues in the direction of the main tourist resorts.

For this reason, a yellow sticker is indicated on the motorway section leading to the sea especially towards the mountains, during the morning of Saturday 4th September. In the afternoon, however, a much smoother traffic is expected and, therefore, a green badge. However, the last Italians returning from their holidays could find very smooth traffic during the morning and evening, but with a yellow sticker in the afternoon. Instead, Autostrade.it expects a particularly quiet day on the roads for Sunday 5 September, with free-flowing traffic, therefore a green sticker, for most of the day. Although, in view of the return, there may be some slowdowns in different routes, in the direction of the big cities. Furthermore, it should be remembered that heavy vehicles (with a total mass greater than 7.5 tons) are prohibited from circulating from 7.00 to 22.00 on all motorways.

The weather on Saturday 4 September will be characterized by clouds scattered over most of Italy and there may be showers and thunderstorms on the Alpine, Apennine and part of Sicily. On Sunday 5 September, the weather situation should improve. Furthermore, for those who travel and want to find out about active construction sites, tutors and active speed cameras, they can do so by consulting the official website of the Traffic Police and on the apps that show the presence of speed cameras.
