Stranger Things 4, new trailer confirms the release in 2022

Stranger Things 4

The fourth season of Stranger Things, the Netflix series created by the Duffer brothers and produced by Monkey Massacre Productions and 21 Laps Entertainment, has been severely delayed due to the global health emergency. Now, after numerous postponements, apparently we are there: with a short trailer (viewable a little further down) the streaming giant has confirmed the release of the new series of episodes in 2022.

The third season of Stranger Things, released over two years ago, has left fans in suspense as it ended with the alleged death of Jim Hopper, disappeared in an explosion during the Battle of Starcourt. The actor who plays the character, David Harbor, however, has unofficially confirmed that Hopper is still alive and being held captive in a camp in Kamchatka, Russia. The fourth season will also see another novelty, this time linked to the main setting: the Byers family has left the town of Hawkins forever, which is why the scenario of Stranger Things 4 will be completely different from what has been seen in the past.

Eleven could also be put to the test further in this new season, as the latest trailer hinted that she will revisit her traumatic past at Hawkins National Laboratory. In the official book of the series (available at a special price) you will find all the other relevant information. In addition to much of the historical cast, Stranger Things 4 will see four new cast members: Amybeth McNulty (Call Me Anna) as Vickie, Myles Truitt (Queen Sugar, Black Mafia Family) will play as Hawkins Patrick basketball star Regina Ting. Chen (Queen of the South, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier) will play Ms. Kelly, a guidance counselor who is always very concerned about her students and, last but not least, Grace Van Dien (Charlie Says, The Village) in the role of Chrissy, captain of the cheerleaders and most popular girl in the school.

The pandemic-delayed return of Netflix’s flagship nostalgia series Stranger Things has a release window: 2022. A brief teaser (stick around for a few new frames near the end) promises that “it” is almost here. While today’s news fulfills director Shawn Levy’s promise from the Free Guy press tour that we would know more about Stranger Things before that video game movie is released, it doesn’t go far into spoiler territory but wait, who is that holding the flamethrower?

Maybe that’s for the best? There’s something to look forward to, albeit three years after the third season premiered. If you can’t wait another five months or more, Deadline reports that a longer teaser trailer will air on NBC tonight during coverage of the Olympics.
