Castlevania officially returns
Castlevania is one of the many Konami series that all fans would like to see its return. However, the Japanese giant has never shown that it wants to revive the saga, at least until today. In the last few hours, like a bolt from the blue, Konami has revealed the imminent arrival of a completely new chapter of Castlevania. This is a title presented during 2018 and which had been published by the publisher in a few countries, without reaching Italy, but which has remained unknown to many users.It is called Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls and will be a title starring none other than Alucard, the son of Dracula. Very interesting, however, is the presence of many other playable characters, such as Simon Belmont, Shanoa, Maria and Charlotte, as well as probably other well-known faces in the series. Also fantastic is the presence of the character design of Ayami Kojima and the creation of the soundtrack by Michiru Yamane.
The return of the Castlevania series, although on mobile devices, can only generate a faint hope for all fans who have been waiting for a new chapter in the series, now forgotten, for decades. Could this be a sign of the return of the great Konami sagas? For the moment, the publisher has shown that he believes above all in different intellectual properties, such as Yu-Gi-Oh! or eFootball, whose release period has already been confirmed.
No launch date has been specified for Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls, but users with iPhone, iPad or Mac who are Apple Arcade subscribers will be able to sign up to be notified when the game is released. Castlevania: Grimoire Of Souls Will Return And Launch On Apple Arcade Soon
Like many of Konami’s classic IPs, the Castlevania series seems forever dormant. Even after a successful anime series that played on Netflix for several years, there is no signs of a new game coming anytime soon. At the very least, Konami has allowed access to the franchise’s storied past with the fantastic Anniversary Collection and a potential other upcoming collection that will bring together some of the handheld entries. But that isn’t the only return we’ll be getting, as another unexpected entry will be coming back via Apple.
Konami announced that Grimoire of Souls would see its return via Apple Arcade. If you’re unfamiliar, this was an original 2019 iOS game where you played as Alucard and could unlock other heroes from the series. It took place after Dracula had been sealed away, and new evil has arisen, with 60 levels. If you’re scratching your head, don’t feel too bad. The title never had a worldwide release, and only released officially in Canada before being delisted shortly after with no explanation.
