Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi: Fan Trailer Looks Like It's Real

Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi

Filming is currently in progress for the new Disney series Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi, which will be shown on the Disney + streaming service. It should be a few months before we get to see the first material - for example in the form of an official trailer. A start of the series before the year 2022 is excluded. Nevertheless, there is already an impressive video to see.

It is the work of YouTuber "stryder HD". He had set himself the task of creating a first fan trailer or a trailer concept for Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi. Since he had no official material from the series for this purpose, he used a little trick.

He snapped scenes from other films in which the Obi-Wan actor Ewan McGregor could be seen and which fit the presumed setting of the series. There are also excerpts from other films, series and other sources in which other important characters such as Darth Vader, Mace Windu & Co. had an appearance. He underlined all of this with suitable music and some quotes from the Star Wars universe.

The finished trailer, which you can find in this report, looks amazingly real and is also very atmospheric - apart from a few sequences.

What do you think of the fan trailer? Does it come close to what you would expect from an official video, or don't you like it at all? Let us know in the comments!

Fan-made trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi show teases Darth Vader rematch

The Mandalorian was the first-ever live-action Star Wars TV series, but it will be far from the last. Disney is readying a whole fleet of the things, starting with The Book of Boba Fett later this year and continuing with series about Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson), Cassian Andor, Lando Calrissian and many more.

Perhaps the most intriguing is the Obi-Wan Kenobi show, which will be set after Revenge of the Jedi but before A New Hope, and once again star Ewan McGregor as the exiled Jedi master. And what’s more, the show will feature the return of Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, which can only mean we’re in for a Jedi-vs-padawan rematch!

Naturally, this prospect has fans very excited. YouTube’s own stryder HD even mocked up a concept trailer that strings together shots and lines of dialog from various movies to give us an idea of how epic the real deal may be when it finally arrives. Have a watch:

Will the actual Obi-Wan show feature appearances from characters like Darth Maul, Mace Windu and Qui-Gon Jinn? We don’t know, but they already got McGregor and Christensen to reprise their prequel roles — I wouldn’t be shocked if there were a couple other surprises in store for us. And Liam Neeson, at least, sounds game.

We don’t have a premiere date for the Obi-Wan Kenobi show yet, but expect it on Disney+ sometime in 2022.
