Honor Magic3, waterfall display and gigantic photographic module confirmed?

Honor Magic3

Honor is ready to present its first top of the range following the separation from Huawei. The global launch event of the Magic3 product range will be held on August 12th and we can't wait to find out what the brand has in store for us.

Honor CEO briefly showed live for the first time a pair of smartphone samples during a conference, while an official cover allows us to discover more details about it.

Honor Magic3 will be one of the first smartphones on the market to be equipped with the brand new top chip Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus range. The company has already confirmed that it will have access to Google services, which will make this family of terminals extremely attractive even outside of China.

In a recent conference streamed by Honor CEO George Zhao , pulled a pair of Honor Magic3 out of his pockets to talk about the philosophy behind the chosen design.

Without showing the layout of the photographic compartment, Zhao mentioned that the smartphone will be available in two color variants: Blue Hour and Golden Hour. In photography these two periods of the day are called "Magic Hours", and they are the moments in which the sunlight is the softest and most pleasant near sunrise and sunset.

You can observe the event and take a first look at the two live terminals in the video embedded in this tweet:

In the meantime, an image of an original cover has also leaked for the Honor Magic3, which reveals a large circular cutout for the cameras and a decidedly not pronounced cover on the sides.

The large space reserved for the photographic sector indicates the presence of multiple large sensors, perhaps even the use of a periscope lens, while the lateral design of the cover seems to suggest Honor's choice to adopt a waterfall, or with extremely curved edges.

However, the company has always used the terms "Honor Magic3 Series" for its communications and it is therefore right to expect several smartphones in the lineup, plausibly proposed with specific , design and different prices.

The new Galaxy A 2021 are here! Galaxy A52 has lots of power and a whole new camera, including an IP67 certification. You can buy it here at the best price.

Honor Magic 3 won't have under-display camera, but Magic Fold might

(Pocket-lint) - When Honor released an image of the front of its Honor Magic 3 smartphone - due for launch on 12 August - it put paid to rumours of an under-display camera.

A teaser ad shown on Chinese TV showed a dual-lens camera in a hole punch array on the front. Now it seems that will be the case across the entire Magic 3 family of devices.

Contrary to more recent claims that the Honor Magic 3 Pro+ could still sport a UDC, it seems that too will be like the rest of the series.

Twitter tipster @Rodent950 posted a concept image claiming that all Magic 3 models could have the pillbox-style cutout shown.

However, he also dropped an intriguing hint that Honor could be saving its under-display camera tech for the also heavily-rumoured Honor Magic Fold.

Instead of the UDC, the top models of the Honor Magic 3 launch lineup could actually come with improved 3D facial recognition tech.

MyDrivers suggests that it could employ a '3D structured light solution to support higher-level face recognition'. That might be enough of a draw for those looking for innovation.

That and the rear camera unit which is currently rumoured to come with a new 100x zoom.

We'll find out for sure come 12 August.
