GOG: You can grab this neat indie game for free at the moment

GOG

If you need replenishment for your game collection, you should definitely pay a visit to the GOG.com online store. A free full version for the PC is currently available for download there. It is about the platformer Symphonia. All you have to do is put it in the virtual shopping cart, complete the transaction and the game is yours forever.

Symphonia comes from the indie development studio Sunny Peak and is a 2D platformer. Above all, the music and musical elements are in the foreground. This is not limited to the acoustic background of the game, but is also noticeable in the basic structure of the individual levels. The protagonist marches and hops over an oversized piano or finds himself inside a gigantic music box. He also uses a small violin to catapult himself into the air and thus to get to remote places. The musical instrument is also used to trigger certain mechanisms that are essential for progress. Your task is to track down and collect all music fragments, among other things.

The version of Symphonia, which you can currently download for free from GOG, is completely DRM-free and therefore has no copy protection. How long the free promotion in the online shop will run is not yet known. If in doubt, don't take too much time with the download.

The fab Death Trash will be releasing on GOG in addition to Steam

Death Trash, an upcoming and very impressive open-world RPG is now confirmed to be getting a DRM-free release on GOG when it enters Early Access on August 5. Considering GOG are still quite picky when it comes to what indie games they bring over, often turning them down, it just goes to show how much of a mark Death Trash has made with its recent (and now permanent) demo on Steam.

'Death Trash features a world where cosmic horrors long for humanity but meet punks with shotguns. Influenced by post-apocalyptic, horror, and cyberpunk classics but with a fresh personality of its own. Death Trash combines the crunch and depth of old-school, role-playing classics with the controls and game feel of modern games.'

You can see some of our own footage of Death Trash on our YouTube. One of the best demos I've played, the artwork is simply fantastic. Good to see them getting onto more stores, hopefully it will give them a nice boost at release and being on more stores is better for us consumers too of course.

Death Trash features real-time action with both ranged and melee combat, stealth, multiple choice dialogue, an inventory of items and worms, a crafting system, and skills like pickpocketing and puking. Yes, puking is a skill and you're probably going to use it a lot.

You can now wishlist and follow Death Trash on GOG and Steam.
