A scanned copy of The Complete Starter Set: Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Game 2E can now be purchased for $ 30 on DriveThruRPG, as Wizards of the Coast has decided to make it fully available. The file logs show that the last update dates back to July 2019, but the date of addition to the catalog as "purchasable" appeared among the new versions only today.Curiously, Wizard of the Coast had to add a disclaimer to the PDF, in which it is pointed out that, in this version available for download, no dice or miniatures are included which could be useful for playing the game! Obvious shortcomings aside, this downloadable version is really well supplied and excellently presented, since it includes:
The front illustration, in color, of the original packaging. The Player's Handbook, consisting of 34 pages, with black cover and full color interiors and indexed and searchable topics. The Dungeon Master's Guide, consisting of 66 pages, with black cover and full color interiors and indexed and searchable topics. The Monster Manual, consisting of 34 pages, with black cover and full color interiors and indexed and searchable topics. the Book of Lairs, consisting of 98 internal pages in black and white in Forgotten Realms format, printable Dungeon Master Screen, with the cover cover of 12.16 "x 5.33" and three internal panels of size 8.28 "x 10.65 ″. 16 Player Cards. Introductory sheet. Two Characters Maps measuring 15.40 "x 22.96". Full color illustration of the back of the box. An excellent opportunity, therefore, to be able to play (or replay) a great Old School classic with all the materials we need! You can now spend $30 to download a scanned copy of The Complete Starter Set: Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Game 2E from DriveThruRPG after Wizards of the Coast made it available today.
DTRPG’s records note that the file was updated in July 2019, but the “added to catalog” date is today, and the title appeared in today’s new releases.
Wizard has had to put a disclaimer on the PDF to point out that dice and plastic figures are not included with the download.
Thankfully, an early purchaser, Rachael S, has documented what is included. Rachael says;

The scans are searchable, but we’re told there’s size variation between the pages, which might be why a Print on Demand option isn’t available.
The official blurb says the Player’s Handbook outlines the basic and expanded rules with magic spells. The Dungeon Master Guide add info and three adventures, while the Monstrous Manual offers up monsters and treasure.
