The new Snake Eyes trailer: G.I. Joe Origins
Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins is currently expected in American theaters on July 23 and as already confirmed in the past will act as a prequel and reboot for the film saga inspired by the homonymous franchise born in the 80s as a line of action figures and as an animated series (you can review for free by retrieving our article) arrived at the cinema a few years ago with two GI films Joe - The birth of the 2009 Cobra and G.I. Joe - Revenge of 2013 which, however, collected very little both in terms of criticism and at the box office. And here's finally the new trailer:
Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians) stated:
I wanted to do something different with the character. Show it from a different angle. Re-launching a franchise like G.I. Joe is a unique and unmissable opportunity especially starting from a character like Snake Eyes who has always been shrouded in mystery. Everyone knows him as one of the most fearsome G.I. Joe, a living weapon but who is really the man behind the mask and what is his story?
Producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura then confirmed that the film will answer these and other questions about Snake Eyes that have always crowded the minds of fans such as what is his real name and all those details that in mythology of the franchise are "classified". The producer also went into a little bit of the plot detail confirming that we will see Snake Eyes as a character strongly traumatized by a frightening event and driven by the most wrong motivations will find a new "family" in the Clan Arashikage and in Tommy, the one who will become Storm Shadow who will be played by Andrew Koji (Warrior).
Henry Golding plays Snake Eyes in Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins from Paramount Pictures, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures and Skydance.
Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins will be directed by Robert Schwentke (RED, Allegiant) with a screenplay by Evan Spiliotopoulos, Anna Waterhouse and Joe Shrapnel. The cast also includes Iko Uwais (The Raid, Wu Assassins) who will play Hard Master, Samara Weaving in the role of Scarlett:
And above all of Baroness played by the star of La Casa di Carta, Úrsula Corberó, which Di Bonaventura describes as "delightfully wicked".
