PS5: More Sony games for PC, but PlayStation remains best platform

Sony also wants to publish PlayStation games for PC in the future. In a current question and answer session on the PlayStation blog, PlayStation Studios boss Hermen Hulst explains that planning for the PC is still "at the very beginning". However, the "release of Horizon Zero Dawn for PC was already a great success". According to Hulst, this shows that players outside the PlayStation ecosystem also want to play the games that are otherwise only available on Sony consoles.

"However, I would like to emphasize at this point that the PlayStation will continue to do so the best platform will be to play the PlayStation Studios titles immediately at the time of release, "added the Sony manager. Sony also wants to weigh up "the right time for the publication" of each game in the future. The assumption is therefore that individual titles will continue to appear initially for the PlayStation consoles and later for the PC.

So there were almost two years between the release for the PS4 and the PC." With the PC releases, Sony has set itself the goal of reaching more players - and of course generating more income. "The release of games on the PC will never come at the expense of our range of great console games," added the head of PlayStation Studios. In August 2020, the publisher released Horizon Zero Dawn for PC - more than three years after the PS4 release. The successor Forbidden West has been announced so far for PS4 and PS5 (buy now).
