Expect ‘Fortnite’ To Welcome Superman, Loki And Star Trek In Season 7

Injustice 2Fortnite is about to launch season 7 tomorrow with a very clear theme: aliens. Players have been decrypting coded alien messages the past few days, aliens have literally been abducting players on the map (and healing them?). And what that means is that we are likely going to see some famous aliens coming to the game. And many are already being teased.
Here are three more or less confirmed aliens or groups of aliens coming to Fortnite in season 7, possibly within tomorrow’s battle pass itself:
Superman and Lois

Superman is far and away the highest profile superhero that Fortnite has not brought into the game yet, as Batman, Iron Man, Wolverine and a zillion others are there already. Not only is Superman the most famous comic book hero, but he’s also an alien. But this isn’t just speculation. In a teaser yesterday, Fortnite showed off a new item that’s a pair of glasses the aliens claim with render them unrecognizable when worn. That’s a Clark Kent reference if I’ve ever seen one, and I would not be surprised to see Superman leading the battle pass tomorrow. But which version? Cavil? CW? Reeves? Comic? Rebirth?
Loki
EpicLoki
Loki is another human-looking alien, this time from Marvel, hailing from Asgard. Loki’s new show debuts on Disney Plus on Wednesday, so the brand synergy there would be stellar if he does happen to appear in the battle pass tomorrow. And again, not speculation. We have seen a shadow of Loki appear in Fortnite teaser art recently, along with what may be a new version of Thor as well (who led the Marvel battle pass a while back). Loki is absolutely coming, it’s just a matter of when.
CBSStar Trek
This one is a little more nebulous, but obviously Star Trek is full of famous aliens, and it’s one IP that has not made its way to Fortnite yet, which makes it a rarity. Again, there was another clue here. One of the messages in the secret puzzle yesterday spelled out “UNIVERSAL TRANSLATION MALFUNCTION” which is referenced in Star Trek Discovery, the currently-airing Star Trek series on Paramount Plus. So we may get a crossover with aliens from that series, potentially.
Besides those three, what other aliens might we see? It’s a long list, but I don’t have any outright hints for anyone else just yet. From comics, Martian Manhunter, the entire cast of The Eternals, Supergirl, Gamora, not from comics, Chewbacca, Optimus Prime, Mass Effect aliens, Destiny aliens, Halo aliens, uh, Alf? I don’t know. There’s a lot. But they’ve already done a bunch from Predator to the Xenomorph to Silver Surfer to Groot and others.
We should get another hint at 10 AM ET today, so maybe that will be a clue to a different alien. And of course, I expect aliens of Epic’s own design too, not just licensed ones. But I mean, they’re always doing licensed ones now, so I expect at least the three above.
