Borderlands, the film: the first photo with the full cast shows the profiles

Borderlands, the film

The Borderlands film continues its production and has arrived in the past few hours what is in fact the first official photo for the full cast, at least as regards the main characters or rather their silhouettes, waiting to see a more detailed one.

This is clearly a teaser, but in the meantime it allows you to have a more precise idea of the main characters and some details on the costumes. What we can already see allows us to discern the characters in question and their respective actors, in the meantime.

Borderlands, the film: photos with the main characters In the photo we therefore see Florian Munteanu as Krieg, Ariana Greenblatt in the role of Tiny Tina , Jamie Lee Curtis as Dr. Patricia Tannis, Cate Blanchett as Lilith, Kevin Hart as Roland and Jack Black as Claptrap, although more than anything else it is the latter without the actor, who will do the dubbing and it does not appear in the photo.

If nothing else, it seems that the costumes and hairstyles are destined to reproduce rather faithfully the counterparts within the videogame, although this photo has not failed to generate some diatribes among the fans, as with regards to Lilith's height judged to be a bit excessive compared to the others.

In any case, the actors chosen are really high profile, which already represents an excellent basis for the construction of the movie, waiting to be able to see something.

Have you noticed any errors?

The Borderlands movie, based on the popular looter-shooter video game franchise from Gearbox Software, is slowly becoming a reality.

While the film doesn’t have a release date, it’s projected for a 2022 theatrical release. We may very well find out more at this year’s E3 in June.

The film’s stars have been releasing silhouetted images of their characters on social media recently, and now we have the first image of the movie’s main characters—in costume—to whet our collective appetite.

The catch? Well, it’s still just a silhouette:

Cate Blanchett plays Lilith:

Jack Black voices the robot companion Claptrap. Jamie Lee Curtis plays Tannis, Kevin Hart plays Roland, Ariana Greenblatt plays Tiny Tina and a bunch of other characters from the video games will make an appearance as well. If you threw in the Rock and Karen Gillan it would basically be a Jumanji reunion.

Will this movie be as good as that one? Jumanji is one of the best video game movies ever made—but it’s not based on any game in particular. That seems to be the key to truly great video game movies. Wreck It Ralph is another great example. Video game adaptations tend to be kind of bad-to-average most of the time. Hopefully Borderlands breaks the mold—though I still think an animated series might have made more sense.

Hopefully we get to see some of these images in full color and detail soon. Crossing my fingers for an E3 trailer.
