The Goonies
Although by now, unfortunately, many of us are no longer "the right age" to go hunting for pirate treasures as we dreamed of looking at one of the absolute cult of the '80s, The Goonies, (which you can recover in an extra version luxury at this link) does not mean that we cannot recall the search for the treasure of Willie the Orbo on our gaming tables! For this, Funko Games comes to our aid, announcing its new title The Goonies: Never Say Die!Funko Games
The game design studio Prospero Hall has transformed the film into a boardgame with really interesting premises, with nine action-packed missions to complete, some of which are conceived in a completely original way compared to the canonical plot, which involve all the characters we have learned to love (and hate, why not !) with the events narrated in The Goonies.
Funko Games promises us that with The Goonies: Never Say Die, we will be involved in a dangerous adventure, full of traps and caves to explore in search of priceless treasures. One player will play the role of the Goondocks Master, leading all the fearsome adversaries we've seen in the film, from the outlaw family to the legendary Willie the Patch himself.
The other players take on the role of the Goonies: Mikey, Mouth, Chunk, Data and Sloth, who will be called upon to solve cryptic puzzles and deadly challenges, cooperating in order to reach the immense riches capable of saving their homes from demolition!
In The Goonies: Never Say Die, players win or lose as a team, while whoever plays the Goondocks Master wins or loses as a single player. The game, designed for an age range from 12 years upwards, includes games for two to five players, with an average duration of about 50 minutes
In the package there will be eight well-made miniatures: Mikey, Mouth, Chunk, Data, Sloth, the Giant Octopus, the Fratellis family and, of course, Willie the Orbo, together with a modular illustrated board, which will change configuration depending on the mission undertaken, cards, tiles and custom dice, as well as various tokens and an hourglass. The gameplay, as stated, will be inspired as faithfully as possible, precisely by the style of 80s adventures.
