PS Plus

The announcement of the new "free" games for PS Plus in June 2021 is imminent. In the new month too, subscribers will receive additional games for PS4 and PS5. If Sony does not change the known process, the list of upcoming inclusive games will follow tomorrow, Wednesday, May 26th. PlayStation Plus Free Games June 2021: Predictions, Rumors, Leaks And More

Here are all the free games PS Plus subscribers might get in June 2021.

It’s very nearly the final Wednesday of the month. That means we’re just hours away from the big PlayStation Plus free games announcement from Sony. What will June’s free games be? Will PS4 and PS5</a> players both be happy with this coming month’s games or will it be a huge letdown after a pretty good lineup in May?

Only time will tell—and fortunately not much time. Unless something goes haywire, Sony will announce the PS Plus lineup Wednesday morning.

So what should we expect for PS Plus in June? And what leaks and rumors do we already know about to help us make our best guesses? Read on to find out.

Leaks and Rumors

According to a recent leak, Sony will give away three free games in June to PlayStation Plus members. The three games are:

  • Star Wars: Squadrons
  • Operation: Tango
  • Virtua Fighter 5 / Ultimate Showdown
  • That’s a pretty good haul. Operation Tango—a cooperative spy game—comes out on June 1st, which could very easily coincide with the free PS Plus games. Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown is something of a red flag, however, given the game hasn’t even been announced yet. However, we should see an announcement for the game this week so stay tuned.

On the other hand, Star Wars: Squadrons actually makes sense. The game’s been out for awhile and it’s just popular enough to get people excited but not a big enough hit to keep away from PS Plus for too long. It’s just the kind of summer giveaway that players would be excited about, but not such a huge hit that it makes the leak seem fake.

All told, it’s exactly the kind of lineup you’d expect for PS Plus, which—along with the fact that this leaker has been right in the past—makes me think these are legit. Of course, until it’s official don’t count on anything.

That’s it as far as leaks and rumors go. It almost makes predictions pointless, but we might as well for fun.

Under-the-radar PS5 game The Pathless could make its PS Plus debut next month given Sony needs PS5 games to giveaway.

I haven’t played this one but it looks pretty cool. I’d definitely take it for a spin if it was one of June’s free PS Plus games.

There’s also Uncharted: Lost Legacy—the first game in the franchise not featuring Nathan Drake, and the only game in the franchise that still hasn’t come to PS Plus. That’s a possibility for sure and a perennial favorite for these lists.

I’ll toss in Dark Souls III just for fun since I don’t think it’s been released for free via PS Plus though I could be wrong about that. Given we could have an Elden Ring announcement any day now, a Souls freebie makes sense. (We are getting an Elden Ring announcement soon right? Right??)

Finally, another game releasing on PS5 on June 1st is Wreckfest, a racing game from THQ Nordic. It’s been out on PC for a while now, but it comes to PS5 next week. That makes it a pretty perfect contender for a PS Plus giveaway.

What do you think? Will these leaks be correct? Any other guesses, let me know on Twitter or Facebook!
