GPD Win 3, the new portable console with Intel Tiger Lake is coming

GPD Win 3

The latest version of GPD of its "portable console" (even if it is more similar to a mini PC with integrated screen), Win 3, will finally be on sale at the end of this month at various retailers, including Amazon.com.

Win 3 is GPD's latest portable gaming device designed to run Windows 10 and play PC games. One of the most important innovations of Win 3 compared to previous models is represented by the inclusion of a QWERTY keyboard, combined with the classic commands of a controller (such as analog sticks, D-pad and triggers), all in a form factor similar to Nintendo Switch .

Win 3 is GPD's first Tiger Lake-based handheld console, as it is equipped with an Intel Core i7-1165G7 or a Core i5-1135G7 that integrates the Xe GPU in an 80EU configuration (on the Core i5) or 96EU (on the Core i7). The processor is accompanied by 16GB of LPDDR4x memory with a frequency of 4.266MHz. As for the screen, GPD Win 3 is equipped with a 5.5 ”display with a resolution of 1280 × 720 pixels, certainly not high but more than sufficient for a panel of this size. Additionally, the use of 720p resolution will help the integrated graphics chip deliver higher frame rates.

According to GPD, Win 3 is capable of running demanding titles such as Red Dead Redemption 2, Control and Battlefield V at an average of 50fps on the Core i5 variant. While other products like SEKIRO: Shadows Die Twice and World War Z go up to 60fps and beyond. For the model with Core i7 is also declared a performance boost of 10-15%. Of course, we don't know which graphics settings were used for testing, so these values should be taken with the benefit of the doubt.

GPD Win 3 will be on sale on Amazon.com starting May 28 at the price of $ 1130, while it will arrive on Banggood from May 15 and $ 1100 on IndieGoGo InDemand in July at $ 997. The prices refer to the model with Core i5, while for the one with Core i7 it will be necessary to shell out about $ 200 more.

XPG Levante 240, version equipped with two 120mm fans, is available on Amazon at the price of 127.99 euros, what are you waiting for?
