Battlefield 6: isn't there a single player campaign?

Battlefield 6

An official announcement of the first-person shooter Battlefield 6 seems to be pending soon, but so far there are no official details - but all the more speculation. So there is currently a rumor that the latest Battlefield episode may not have a single player campaign to offer. The trigger for this are some tweets from the well-known insider and speaker Tom Henderson.

He recently spoke up and stated that the developers or Electronic Arts have so far not given any specific information about a story mode of Battlefield 6 Has. In his opinion, this is at least relatively unusual.

"I had to look at some of EA's annual reports from the past, but this is the first annual report (before a reveal) that EA does not have a campaign for this year's Battlefield (...) As I have been saying for several months, I have not heard of a campaign so far. That does not mean that there is none. But it is very unusual not to hear about it in an information round . "

In fact, previous annual reports had always mentioned a campaign before a new Battlefield episode was announced - but not this time. Of course, this is not clear evidence that Battlefield 6 will do without such a story mode. However, it should certainly make some fans sit up and take notice. In addition, Tom Henderson had caused a stir several times in the past with correct leaks and predictions. It is therefore entirely possible that he is right this time too. Electronic Arts and DICE are still silent. Maybe by next month we'll be smarter. Then supposedly the announcement of Battlefield 6 should be on the program.

Major 'Battlefield 6' Letdown Leaked Ahead Of Announcement

KEY POINTS
  • 'Battlefield 6' is the next installment to the hit 'Battlefield' franchise
  • The game is developed by DICE and published by EA
  • 'Battlefield 6' is scheduled to release sometime in the Holiday of 2021
  • EA and DICE are set to release 'Battlefield 6' in a few days, but it appears that an industry insider has some bad news for fans before the grand launch.

The sad news came from prominent 'Battlefield' insider Tom Henderson. On Twitter, the insider claimed that 'Battlefield 6' would launch without a campaign. According to the insider, he had not heard of a campaign for the upcoming game and pointed out that it was strange that EA had failed to talk about it in its most recent earnings call.

During the game publisher's earnings call, there were discussions about a wide range of aspects of the next 'Battlefield' game, including its multiplayer component. But based on the transcript, the company did not mention anything related to the game's campaign.

'I had to look back at the past EA earnings calls, but this is the first earnings call where EA has not mentioned a campaign coming to this year's Battlefield,' Henderson noted.

'Could be something. ... Could be nothing. As I've mentioned for the past couple of months, I'm yet to hear of a campaign. It doesn't mean there isn't one, but it's very, very unusual to not hear of one in an info dump,' the insider said further.

The video game publisher did not mention the rumored battle royale mode during its recent earnings call, either.

Despite the avalanche of rumors surrounding 'Battlefield 6,' neither EA nor DICE has made an official statement about the game's campaign. 'Battlefield' is one of the biggest franchises in history, so it is understandable that rumors surface ahead of its grand reveal.

Meanwhile, in a recent earnings call, EA CEO Andrew Wilson confirmed the launch platforms of the next 'Battlefield' title. Aside from PC, 'Battlefield 6' would also be available on new generation consoles like Xbox Series X and PS5 and previous generation consoles like PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

'Battlefield will be available for both current-gen and next-gen, as will our sports titles,' Wilson noted.

EA also confirmed that the game's reveal would happen sometime in June, but it did not offer any specific date.
