E3 2021: Square Enix will be there and will make a new announcement

E3 2021

In recent weeks, there has been a lot of talk about the possible acquisition of Square Enix. The Japanese company immediately thought about rebalancing the rumors, releasing an official statement in which it denied the chatter. To date, therefore, Square remains steadfast on its own path, which sees it releasing many titles of great depth, with some of them already on the market for some time, and others that will probably be announced at E3 2021.

Just a few moments ago, in fact, Square Enix wanted to announce that it will take part in E3 2021. Just a few weeks ago we had the official confirmation of the return of the American fair after an unfortunate 2020 edition that inevitably had to skip due to Covid. The announcement of the Japanese company therefore puts a new piece in the puzzle that will make up this year's E3.

The announcement arrived on the pages of Nikkei, the well-known Japanese newspaper, within the which Square Enix president Yosuke Matsuda said that during the upcoming E3 2021 Square will be there to make an announcement. "We released Outriders on April 1st, NieR Replicant will also be released this month, plus we have Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade due out in June."

To this recap of upcoming releases, the president of Square Enix then added the following: “We will announce what's left of our line-up later, and during E3 2021 we will have an announcement to make, so we ask you to keep your eyes open “. We do not know anything else at the moment, and not even if this announcement refers to a game or perhaps to a new digital event in which the Japanese company will contain a whole series of news. We just have to keep our eyes open as requested by Matsuda and wait for further news.

While waiting for news from Square Enix, you can buy or reserve the company's recent games on Amazon at the following addresses: Outriders, NieR Replicant and Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade.

Get ready for some Square Enix news at E3 2021

Missing from the roster along with Sony when the event announced it was initially going digital, Square Enix will now be joining the growing gaming event E3 this year.

After 2020’s E3 expo was cancelled because of the pandemic, it seems that things are starting to look up giving gaming fans some hope of getting a glimpse into the future of some of their favourite titles this summer.

According to Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda in a recent interview, the publisher has plans for game-related announcements at E3 2021. When Matsuda was asked about any potential Square Enix titles that may appear at E3 2021, he replied:

“Outriders, the release of which was postponed, was released on April 1 and NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… will also be released in April. In addition, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will be released in June.”

“We’ll be announcing the rest of the line-up [later], and we’re also planning to make an announcement at E3 in June, so please keep your eyes peeled.”

On Resetera, fans have been already speculating on what could be announced when Square Enix make their appearance at E3. A few of the comments suggested things like new Kingdom Hearts news for its 20th anniversary, Final Fantasy 16 and Forspoken info.

Although Square Enix has yet to be officially confirmed, they will join the likes of Xbox, Capcom, Nintendo, Konami, Take-Two Interactive, Ubisoft, Koch Media and Warner Bros. Games.

The E3 event this year will take place on June 12 and finish up on June 15 with the event being renamed as “Electronic Entertainment Experience” instead of the usual ‘Expo’.
