Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 should actually be released in autumn 2020. First the title was postponed to the beginning of 2021 and then to the second quarter of 2021. Now CI Games got in touch with a hopefully final release date for the title and a first gameplay trailer.

The game features a single player campaign in the modern Middle East with five sandbox maps, replayable missions, and sniper action at over 1,000 meters. Firing such shots accurately, however, is no easy feat. The Sniper Ghost Warrior series uses factors such as wind and bullet drop to create the most realistic gameplay possible. In addition to the sniper feeling, enemies can also be eliminated by cleverly sneaking up in close combat. A drone that can mark enemies is also included. Because every good military simulation needs a drone.

So far, CI Games has not yet been able to deliver a masterpiece with Sniper Ghost Warrior. So we rated most of the offshoots of the series, including Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 1, rather average to negative. Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 just got a carnage-filled gameplay trailer and a release date. CI Games’ sequel brings its tactical action to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S on June 4, 2021, promising more tense, single-player gunplay. As the trailer indicates, you’ll need to utilize every tool at your disposal when infiltrating enemy bases and confirming kills in gory fashion.


Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 comes as the latest in a long series of strategic video games from CI Games. The Ghost Warrior leg of the franchise got its start in 2010 with Sniper: Ghost Warrior, with Ghost Warrior 2 and 3 following in 2013 and 2017, respectively. The first Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts, a mission-based game that left behind the more open structure of Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3, arrived in 2019.


With Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts 2, CI Games is looking to continue building on the formulas it created in 2019. On the game’s Steam page, the developer promises “the most challenging entry to the acclaimed series yet” as players make their way through its modern-day campaign. You play as Raven, a contract sniper assassin with eyes set on dismantling a crime syndicate located along the Lebanese and Syrian borders.
