Rustler: the medieval GTA arrives on PlayStation, Xbox and Switch in 2021, new trailer

Rustler

Publisher Modus Games and developer Jutsu Games have announced that Rustler (Grand Theft Horse) will be released on PlayStation, Xbox and Switch consoles later this year. The title was released in an Early Access version on Steam on February 18, with the final version expected to launch in about 6 months.

Starting with its name, Rustler (Grand Theft Horse) is certainly no mystery of its major points of reference: we are talking about an open world title with a top view strongly inspired by the first chapters of the Grand Theft Auto series by Rockstar Games. With a protagonist vaguely reminiscent of Bully's never-forgotten Jimmy Hopkins, the title stands as a sort of old-fashioned GTA set in a medieval context.

"Grand Theft Horse: Conquer the kingdom or take it down. Complete Crazy missions, kill heroes, steal horses, take on guards, rob peasants and become the ultimate medieval thug in this open world action game full of pop culture references! Classic Grand Theft Auto gameplay gets a medieval makeover. Grand Tournament offers the hand of the princess as a prize. Go from being a local brigand to a true champion. Or not. It's madness and chaos with a real comic streak. "

The developers have announced the console version of the peculiar title, arriving in the formats PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in the course of 2021 at the price of 29.99 euros. For the occasion, a new trailer has been released full of gameplay sequences that you can enjoy at the top of the news. Rustler is a top-down medieval sandbox in the style of classic Grand Theft Auto

Publisher Modus Games and developer Jutsu Games have announced that medieval open-world crime game Rustler will head to consoles later this year, following its current stint on PC in Early Access.

The game sees you take on the role of Guy who will be going havoc in a world described as a medieval land taking on absurd quests, causing chaos and escaping the law-enforcing Knights in a manner described by the publisher as 'Grand Theft Horse' — that is to say a top down view evoking the gameplay of the original Grand Theft Auto games prior to the third one.

You'll be rising up from local brigand to Grand Champion and get to play with a host of weapons given a time-appropriate twist, such as swords, crossbows and even holy hand grenades. You'll also be accompanied on your adventures by your ally Buddy and in a nod to GTA's famous radio stations even be able to hire a Bard to ride along with you performing tunes like a human jukebox.

You can check out a trailer for the game below. Rustler is out now in early access on PC, and will be coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch later in 2021.
