Raspberry PI Pico gets smarter with this board

Surely Raspberry Pi Pico is not the first product that comes to mind when it comes to machine learning, but it seems that the tiny board proposed on the market at a price of just four dollars could be used within projects that involve machine learning. Indeed, Arducam unveiled Pico4ML, a device based on the RP2040 SoC, the heart of the Raspberry Pi Pico, which also offers a built-in camera, small display and microphone.

Arducam is probably best known for its range of cameras for Raspberry Pi and NVIDIA Jetson single board computers, but the recent launch of the Raspberry Pi Pico immediately caught his eye. Pico4ML is its first RP2040-based card, as well as the first equipped with an integrated camera, a microphone that can be used for keyword detection, a screen and an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) capable of detecting gestures. br>
Pico4ML was designed for machine learning and artificial intelligence projects based on Tiny Machine Learning (TinyML). The TensorFlow Lite Micro library is fully supported by RP2040, opening up a whole new world of microcontroller designs. Arducam's Pico4ML essentially still remains a Raspberry Pi Pico, so it should be compatible with accessories designed for the latter.

Pico4ML reacts with a percentage value to show how certain it is that an image is a person while reproducing the subject in the frame in real time on its display. Unfortunately, at the moment we don't know when, and at what price, the product will be available.
