This story went viral in a few hours on the Resetera website. The protagonist of this affair is Traxus who in a period where people are praying to be able to buy a PS5, has decided to sell his console to focus more on the Nintendo 64.

I'll probably be back when God of War 2 or Horizon Zero Dawn 2 is released. "

These are the words of Traxus who later added that he is having a lot of fun, especially with his son. "I played Super Mario 64 with my son and the console still holds up as well as it did in 1996." The PlayStation 5 remains frustratingly elusive for gamers, who have to contend with sporadic restocks and demand that continues to outstrip supply.

Sony's next-gen console has proved enormously popular since launching in November and it is currently out of stock at most major U.S. retailers, after last week's restocks sold out swiftly.

Here's a breakdown of the latest PS5 stock information from Target, Walmart, GameStop, Antonline, PS Direct, Amazon and more.

Amazon PS5 Restock

The PlayStation 5 remains out of stock at Amazon and the retailer's website indicated it still doesn't know when or if the consoles will be back in stock.

Antonline PS5 Restock

The PlayStation 5 is not available at Antonline, whose latest restock sold out last week.

Antonline typically announces its restocks on Twitter, so gamers should follow @antonlinecom for updates.

Both versions of the PS5 are out of stock at Best Buy after last week's restock sold out quickly.

Costco PS5 Restock

The PS5 remains unavailable at Costco, whose latest restock sold out at the end of last week. The retailer does not normally announce when it will make consoles available, but gamers can remain updated by following gaming accounts such as @Wario64, @PS5Updates and @GYXdeals.

GameStop PS5 Restock

The PlayStation 5 is unavailable at GameStop after a restock last week sold out.

Newegg PS5 Restock

Newegg's bundles and consoles are out of stock as of Tuesday. The retailer's restock sold out earlier this month and it previously offered customers the chance to enter a lottery to win a PS5 console on Newegg Shuffle, which is the 'drawing system used to purchase in-demand products that are currently limited in supply.'

PS Direct PS5 Restock

Both versions of the console are unavailable at PS Direct.

Target PS5 Restock

The PlayStation 5 remains out of stock at Target and the retailer is yet to indicate when it will be getting more consoles. Once they are back in stock, they will be available to order online with drive-up or pick-up collection, and will be limited to one per person.

Walmart PS5 Restock

Walmart restocked the PS5 on Thursday, but the consoles sold out in a matter of hours. The retailer has not announced when it will release more units.
