Are games worth pre-ordering? Let's discuss it together

The ability to pre-order video games in advance of the release date has always existed, but in recent years this habit has spread like wildfire. More and more players decide to entrust their money to publishers before the game hits the market, but is it really worth it?

While booking is essential for limited edition products, it is much less for those games that will be available in huge quantities after launch. In any case, manufacturers and retailers strongly promote this practice by often offering bonuses of various kinds, even in digital format, which encourage users to secure a copy in advance. This is also a great way to support the work of the developers while the work is still in progress.

From time to time, unfortunately, the piggyback pre-order backfires on the same players who had decided to invest the own money upfront. The Cyberpunk 2077 case is the most recent and therefore the most obvious: millions of gamers found themselves on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One a malfunctioning product full of technical problems of all sorts, as well as full of bugs without distinction of platform. In light of this, is it really worth pre-ordering a video game? Our Francesco Fossetti explored the topic in a Special Video recorded by the new Everyeye studio, visible at the opening of the news.
