Google Stadia Discounts: Premiere Edition at 74.99 euros still for a few days

Google Stadia Discounts

The controversy surrounding the closure of Stadia's internal teams is still being debated, but the program for the future of the cloud gaming platform seems to be clear and completely focused on third parties.

The Mountain View giant has promised the arrival of over 100 games on Stadia in the course of 2021, starting with a blockbuster of the caliber FIFA 21 coming out on March 17, up to the highly anticipated triple A as Outriders, scheduled for April 1 and already available at pre-order with bonuses.

In view of this wave of games, Google has discounted Stadia Premiere Edition on its official store. Until 16:00 on Tuesday 23 February you can buy it at 74.99 euros instead of 99.99 euros, a discount even higher than that applied in the discounts at the end of 2020, which had lowered the price to 79.99 euros. The Stadia Premiere Edition, for the uninitiated, offers everything you need to play on your home TV, transforming Stadia into a sort of console: the package includes a Stadia Controller and Chromecast Ultra, coupled that allows you to play on the TV up to at 1080p resolution, or in 4K and HDR thanks to a subscription to Stadia Pro (9.99 euros per month, games are also included).

You can take advantage of the offer on Stadia Premiere Edition at this address . Before purchasing, make sure your home network supports the minimum requirements (you need at least 10 Mbps to use Stadia, which goes up to 35 Mbps for 4K HDR).

Google Stadia Premiere Edition is 25% off - big savings on big screen streaming

Google Stadia hasn't had an easy time of it, but if you've been holding off on testing out Google's game streaming service a recent discount might offer just the incentive to dive straight in.

Google has cut 25% off the price of a Google Stadia Premiere Edition bundle, which drops the price down from £89.99 to £67.49 right now. That's an excellent saving on the proprietary controller and a Chromecast Ultra (which is the only Chromecast model capable of running Google Stadia services right now). That means you're all set up for streaming games to your TV with one handy package - and it's well timed, considering you can currently grab a one month free trial of Google Stadia Pro (usually £8.99 a month).

Of course, if you're planning on running Google Stadia on your mobile or laptop, you won't need to pick up the bundle at all - you can start buying games straight away, or pick up a Stadia Pro subscription for access to a free library.

Google Stadia price explained

Ever since its release, the Google Stadia price has been a friction point for many. From confusing initial marketing to staggered release dates, the actual cost of Google's streaming service wasn't completely clear for a while.

Google Stadia itself is completely free - you can buy games from the service and stream them direct to your laptop or mobile. However, you can also pay £8.99 a month for a Stadia Pro subscription which gives you access to a growing roster of free games as long as your membership is active. That's laptop and mobile gaming explained, but what if you want to play on your TV?

The only way to play Google Stadia on the big screen is through a Stadia controller and a Chromecast Ultra. That's where the Premiere Edition bundle comes in - you can save some cash on both of these items bundled in together. You'll still need a Stadia Pro subscription for access to free games, however.
