State Cashback: How Super Cashback Works
There is Cashback and Super Cashback. The difference lies in the amount recognized and in the payment methods. If the first can be accrued by joining the initiative and receiving 10% of the amount spent in the shops, the second is a sort of 1,500 euro prize awarded to those who in the three semesters of the initiative (from early 2021 to mid 2022) will have performed the highest number of valid transactions.

Super Cashback of 1,500 euros: how is it awarded?

The two refunds can be accumulated, as stated in the section of the official website dedicated to questions and answers: "Yes, the two types of reimbursement add up, reaching 1,650 euros, if you have made at least 50 valid transactions and are among the top 100,000 citizens who have totaled more transactions in the same period".

The portal of the IO application also states that “With the same number of valid transactions at the end of each period, the one who made the last valid transaction before the other participants will have priority ". The position in the ranking varies according to the number of valid transactions carried out.

The introduction of the Super Cashback has aroused quite a few controversies on the part of those who believe the measure is not in line with the objective of the State Cashback ( incentivize the use of digital payments for daily purchases), pushing citizens to carry out as many transactions as possible in order to aspire to reimbursement. A dynamic not too different from the one that governs the Receipt Lottery.
