Star Wars The Book of Boba Fett: Stand-alone series is already in production
Since the final episode of Season 2 of the Star Wars: The Mandalorian series, numerous fans around the world have been puzzling over what exactly the hinted at Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett is about. There were some hints and speculations, but only now do we have the final and therefore all-clear answer.

It comes directly from the responsible producer and Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau. He was recently a guest (online) on the TV show "Good Morning America" and chatted a little about his previous work on Star Wars: The Mandalorian and the great success of the character of "Baby Yoda". A short time later he came up to talk about the new project and clarified the question that most fans are currently particularly burning on the tongue. Accordingly, Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett is actually an independent project that functions separately from the Mandaloria series and thus stands on its own. However, Favreau did not allow too many details to be unlocked. The only thing that is certain is that the premiere is planned for December 2021 at Disney + and that production has already started. Temuera Morrison returns in the role as Boba Fett and Ming-Na Wen will again be seen as his companion Fennec Shand. According to initial rumors, it is probably a mini-series with only one season, in which the background of Boba Fett is illuminated.

What about season 3 of The Mandalorian?

Jon Favreau also came up with the third season of Star Wars: The Mandalorian. This is currently in the pre-production phase. However, the team wants to finish filming The Book of Boba Fett before it really starts. This suggests that Season 3 will probably not be expected on Disney + until 2022. Then Pedro Pascal will slip into the role of the Mandalorian again.
