Spotify has launched its own Stories, but they are a little different from those of others

The contents do not disappear immediately and are used to tell the behind the scenes of music or songs. The test starts from the United States

(Photo: Britta Pedersen / Alliance / Ipa) The Stories, after having landed on LinkedIn and Twitter, also conquer Spotify. For the moment, however, they are only available in the United States, are only visible to some iPhone users and are only present in very few playlists. But the sense is that they have also arrived on the streaming platform.

A Twitter user noticed that when opening a playlist, the round image of the author's profile had an unusual writing: “Tap to see the story ". Pressing on it the application showed some Christmas video messages of the artists whose songs are hosted in the playlist.

Spotify has stories now….

The function, for the moment, seems to stop there. Users cannot create their own stories yet nor has the company communicated about it.

Testing this content quietly began earlier this year with Summer Mckeen, influencer, makeup and fashion star on YouTube, before a very small group of testers. Although Spotify's Stories are graphically similar to Instagram's, the content appears to last more than 24 hours. Their purpose would be to tell stories behind artists' playlists, songs or albums.

Spotify's stories would therefore seem to be the evolution of the Storyline product which, launched by the streaming platform last year, it allowed artists to share insights, inspirations and anecdotes inherent in a piece.

Contrary to the use made of Stories on other social networks, Spotify so far seems to allow the creation of this content only to artists or influencers. The uploaded content could actually be used to tell the stories behind the creation of a song or an album. However, we will have to wait for the next developments to understand what the streaming champion of his Stories intends to do.
