NVIDIA: The powerful RTX A6000, designed for professionals, is now available
NVIDIA, last October, announced the launch of two new graphics cards based on Ampere GPU. These were the RTX A6000 and A40, which are equipped, respectively, with the GA102 and GA104 graphics processors. Although they are products intended for the professional market, and therefore not for gamers, the absence of the usual Quadro or Tesla brands seemed rather strange.

Indeed, the Californian company has decided to discontinue its previous series in favor of a single line of NVIDIA RTX Axx or NVIDIA Axx video cards. Additionally, the company has announced that it will rename its Quadro drivers to NVIDIA RTX Enterprise, which will continue to offer the same level of quality, reliability, performance and security as its predecessors.

The RTX A6000 is the only GA102 GPU-based graphics card to support all CUDA cores. With 10,752 CUDA cores, the GPU offers single-precision processing performance of up to 38.7TFLOP, which is 3.1TFLOP more than the GeForce RTX 3090. Unlike the latter, however, the RTX A6000 offers twice the capacity of memory, now equal to 48GB. Such modules are currently only available with GDDR6 technology, so the bandwidth is actually lower than the GeForce RTX 3090.

Here are the full tech specs:

48GB GDDR6 GPU memory with ECC Display Port 4 DisplayPort 1.4 * Max power consumption 300 W Graphics bus PCI Express Gen 4 x 16 Form factor Dual slot 4.4 ″ H x 10.5 ″ L Thermal Active 2-way low profile NVLink (2-slot bridge and 3 slots)

Connecting 2 RTX A6000 vGPU Software Support NVIDIA GRID ®, NVIDIA Quadro ® Virtual Data Center Workstation,

NVIDIA Virtual Compute Server Supported vGPU Profiles 1GB, 2GB, 3GB, 4GB , 6GB, 8GB, 12GB, 16GB, 24GB, 48GB VR Ready Yes NVIDIA RTX A6000 has four DisplayPort 1.4 connectors, but lacks an HDMI 2.1 output. It features an active cooling system with a fan, so it's not a data center card like the A40, which only has a passive heat sink. If you need more power, you can also connect two cards to each other via the low profile NVLink bridge. Finally, it also supports NVIDIA vGPU virtualization technologies.

The price of NVIDIA RTX A6000 is $ 4,650, as indicated on the company's American website.
