Microsoft brings Teams Together Mode to Skype
During the summer, Microsoft brought an unprecedented feature to Teams called Together Mode which allows those who participate in a video conference to be present in the same virtual environment while being all connected remotely. The feature now also debuts on Skype, for obvious reasons with a less business and more consumer version.

Skype 8.67: Teams Together Mode available

This thanks to the 8.67 update already in distribution phase. The changelog published by the Redmond group on the official support pages regarding Windows, macOS and Linux explicitly refers to the news. We report the passage in translated form.

We have introduced Together Mode to give everyone in your call the best seat in the house.

For desktop editions of the software we are also the ability to add someone to an ongoing call through their phone number or account and the arrival of new custom wallpapers. The rollout of Meet Now (Instant Meeting) now present in Windows 10 is also completed and the Large Grid Mode peeps out, a grid interface to show all participants in a meeting at the same time. Added to this is the inevitable list of bugfixes and stability improvements.

Taking a look at the Skype mobile applications, the Android one is enriched with support for Chat Bubbles, Priority Conversations, Conversation Space and devices of the Amazon Kindle Fire line now have access to an updated version. The team working on Skype thanks and greets the community of users, postponing to next year for further updates.

We are delighted to have had you with us all this time, collecting feedback to improve Skype. We really appreciate it! Thank you very much! Enjoy the holidays and the rest of the year, see you in 2021.
