Hardware: The GPD 3 could be an alternative to the switch
GPD is known for its handheld PCs. This time, the GPD Win 3 with its 5.5 inch display will have roughly a Nintendo Switch format. Thanks to Intel Tiger Lake and the Iris Xe iGPU, the performance of the Win 3 should outshine that of the Nintendo Switch.

Two versions will be available for purchase at the time of release. For $ 799, the Win 3 is equipped with an i5 1135G7 and an Iris Xe GPU with four cores, eight threads, and 80 execution units. The $ 899 version includes an i7 1165G7 and an Iris Xe with 96 execution units. Both models come with 16GB LPDDR4-4266 and a 1TB PCIe 3.0 SSD. However, drivers for PCIe 4.0 are also supported. The IPS display has a resolution of 720p. The device has a Thunderbolt 4, USB Type-A, HDMI and Aux ports. Also included is a MicroSD slot, Bluetooth 5.0, and Wi-Fi 6. With these components, the GPD Win 3 should offer roughly three times the performance of a Nintendo Switch. That should be enough to play games like Death Stranding with default settings at around 60FPS. The GPD Win 3 comes with integrated controllers, which, compared to the Nintendo Switch, cannot be removed, and a QWERTY keyboard hidden under the screen

Both versions are only available in black. For release, however, there will be a time-limited model for $ 899 in silver.

The GPD Win 3 will be available for pre-order via Indiegogo from January 2021. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in April or May
