Cyberpunk 2077 runs better on a laptop with an AMD APU than on PS4 and Xbox One
Cyperpunk 2077's poor performance on Xbox One and PS4 is making a lot of noise. In these hours many people are discussing it and trying to understand if the problem is the "smooth" consoles, hardware born old and not able to run such an ambitious game, or the poor optimization of the CD Projekt RED code. Many, in fact, are amazed at how "little" can be enough to have better performance than Xbox One and PS4 and therefore do not understand the reason for this disaster. For example, there are photos of an Aya Neo, a laptop with the features of a Nintendo Switch, which runs Cyberpunk 2077 at 1280x800 with a frame rate ranging from 30-35fps. Very respectable numbers, especially considering that PS4 and Xbox One barely reach 720 / 900p and 20-30FPS.

What is "surprising" is the fact that this performance is not achieved with a gaming laptop , but with a hardware that mounts an APU, that is a chip with integrated CPU and GPU, AMD Ryzen 5 4500U with a 1.5GHz AMD Radeon Vega 6. A great processor, AMD is gaining large market shares thanks to its cost / performance ratio, but definitely not one of the most expensive or performing configurations on the market. So much so that the Aya Neo is priced at around $ 600.

Yet a Zen 2 APU is enough to have absolutely honest performance on an Aya Neo and its 7-inch 1280x800 panel.

The problems that the Polish developer is having after releasing the game under these conditions are manifold. For example, readers are destroying the game on Metacritic, but shareholders are not happy either. Shares of CD Projekt RED collapsed on the stock exchange. This is despite the fact that the game has paid off all its costs already in the preorder phase. In other words this means that Cyberpunk 2077 is already generating profits for CD Projekt RED.

What do you think of this whole situation?
